I love these flat soaker hoses. Used them all summer in front of my house. Unfortunately, someone else also likes them and took one! They are great to fasten in various configurations — then all you have to do is turn on the water and turn on which way the water will flow.

Other soaker hoses have holes at set intervals. These are a cloth-like material that lets the water seep from almost anywhere along the length. They are also flexible like cloth so can be wound in and around your plants.

The replacement policy states it “will provide satisfaction for the life of the product or it will be replaced free of charge.” Since the “life of the product” is not given, I think that means that once there’s a problem, its life is over. So they only replace it in the very beginning if this isn’t really what you wanted.

Strange replacement policy or not, I like it so much, I just replaced the stolen hose. If you buy this hose for watering your plants — either in a greenhouse or for your yard next spring — you will not be disappointed.

This works great, already bought more for my home. I have these position in my yard in those awkward hard to reach area. Set them up permanently so all i have to do is turn on the hose. Depending on the pressure is how much water leaks, so it’s in your control. They come in a variety of sizes and can attach to each other just like a hose, so if you buy one too short, you can just buy another and connect it. I’ve used drip systems with all the small stupid parts that constantly breaking, but never again. Things that work, this is one of them!

I’m a fairly hardcore California gardener and have been through a lot of gloves over the years. So far, these are my favorites. I’ve worn out two pair in the last year. These gloves are close fittings for maximum dexterity while doing potting, detailed pruning or weeding and are thinly coated with waterproofing on the fingers and palm so hands stay dry and soil does not come through the fabric and deposit under nails. The thin fabric on the back breathes and helps keep hands cool and dry during warmer weather. I only wish they would last longer but I guess you can’t have this kind of dexterity and extreme durability too – not when you’re seriously playing in the dirt. This company also makes several other models which are more appropriate for other gardening uses.

I purchased these gloves because I like to do “cross training” in outdoor parks. I needed something for my hands that could handle cold weather and give me a decent grip on things like wood planks and iron bars. For that purpose they are actually quite good. They would also be great for light landscaping in cold weather.

I don’t think I’d buy these if you are doing really heavy duty lifting for long periods of time (I.E. at work). I subtracted a star because the Velcro strap at the top is too thin and the grip surface inside the glove is not as secure as I’d like.

Note, these are NOT good for winter running. They are not form fitting and don’t wick away moisture very well. Lastly, they are just a bit too small for me (I chose medium). My middle finger is 3 6/16ths inches long so plan accordingly.

I got a snow shovel last year that had something similar (and with swivels) built in. The swivels broke.

This product, has no swivels. It just screws on – but that’s the beauty of the thing. It screws on to ANYTHING – rake, shovel, snow shovel, push broom if you want! With its simple (but effective) UI there’s few bits to mess up, so you simply have a strong, useful add-on to most any tool about the house!

The backsaver tool is helpful and much easier on the back but it has several limitations:

1. The tool sits up too high from handle. It becomes a little unwieldy when you want to move a shovel around and dump load you dug up.

2. The tool would be better if there was an easier and quicker way to move it up and down the handle depending on what you want to do with it.

3. Also the tool would be better if it was easier to move around the handle. When I am using a shovel, sometimes I need to turn it over when I am double digging a garden plot. If the handle could move around it would be more user friendly.

I love it on a Rake! – David Wilk –
I’ve used this on my shovel and pitch fork at home and it is excellent. Then I tried in on a rake and it was even better. I can put as much force as I need on the head of the rake without bending over. Raking used to kill my back, but this Back Saver lives up to its name. My wife loves it too.
